Zut allors, and ooh la la! I may be wrong, but I think I detect the hand of a Frenchie about this commercial. Ok, it is for Orangina which was certainly French, but is now available all over the place.

But no, what makes me think that there have been Frenchies involved in this is the fact that it is packed with loads of completely off the wall imagery and quite a lot of gratuitous sex. These have often been the hallmark of French adverts. I remember one particularly raunchy one years ago with a bird cavorting about in her underwear that turned out to be for cat food. And then there was that ad for some froggie beer that managed to involve adultery, abandoned children and full on shagging all on account of a half of lager. It was pretty strong stuff, too strong even for the French and after it came out their government banned all but the most basic advertising for alcohol. No more naked birds or shagging, just a simple pack shot if you're lucky.

Luckily Orangina is not alcoholic, so the froggies can go as mad as they like. In fact I reckon that recently they've not been quite up to their usual standards when it comes to weird sex in adverts. But they've really pushed the bateau out on this one. Lots of great CGI, with sexy lady animals all cavorting around with a lucky male bear in an enchanted forest, and lots of Orangina squirting about all over the place. C'est magnifique, it's completely mad, looks fantastic, goes on for hours, and as far as I can tell makes no sense at all, but who cares? Vive La France and vive la difference is what I say.
