I just love Berocca. I think it comes from Australia, where they really used to know about hangovers. A girlfriend bought some back for me a few years ago and it changed my life. It has now been available in the UK for some years, and as far as I can tell, it still contains the proper ingredients which can take you from weeping dish rag to wonder woman in less five minutes . The only thing that works better is an intravenous shot of vitamin B12, but you have to wake up next to a doctor or a vet in order to get this, but boy, does it work.

The ad is a bit weird, and is obviously trying to sell the benefits of Berocca without talking about hangovers. In the new sad sack, lets all be responsible sort of world that we're living in I suppose this makes sense, but it means that the ad doesn't.

Berocca is a hangover remedy, it has no other purpose, lots of dull folk jumping around on treadmills isn't really what it's all about. The end line, `You, but on a really good day' has a hint of what Berocca delivers but it's all too coy, and shows just how sad the Aussies have become. They used to be serious boozers, pirates and swagmen, now they seem to have become terrible old wimps, bores and gnomes. Whatever happened to Crocodile Dundee and his ilk?

If I'm being really harsh about this ad, what it really makes me think is that they've taken out the effective stuff, and are trying to sell Berocca as some kind of mainstream lifestyle enhancer. All I can say is shame on you, you are a disgrace to Australia, and are trampling on your very wonderful, and often, very drunk national heritage.
